Penguin Love

I really, really wish I could take credit for these adorable cookies, but I’m just not that good. Still, they were too cute not to share!

Those of you who have known me a long time know that for YEARS when I was younger, I collected anything and everything penguin related. I don’t think it would be stretching it to say that over the course of my life I’ve owned at least 500 penguin items. Stuffed animals, figurines, mugs, towels, blankets, stickers. Anything with a penguin on it, I had. I’m sure by now you’ve noticed my uber cute salt shakers. They’re always making appearences on the blog.

My penguin obsession has waned considerably, and only a few little guys remain with me (salt shakers included). Most of my penguins ended up in yard sales, and about a hundred or so still reside in my old bedroom and the attic at my Mom’s house. Still, whenever I see penguin paraphernalia nowadays, I can’t help but think how cute they are.

The penguin obsession was so great that even to this day, all of my old friends still associate me with penguins. My friend Laura, who I’ve known since middle school, and lived with for 3 years in Boston, was awesome enough to find these charming little cookies from The Sneaky Cat Bakery, and sent them to me as an engagement gift!

I love love love them! Secretly, they make me want to have a penguin-themed wedding… but that would probably just be weird. Not only are these cookies cute, they’re delicious too! Laura custom ordered them and went with almond frosting, since I love that flavor so much. I hated to eat them after someone put so much work into them, but I have to say, I did enjoy biting Nick’s head off…

Thanks, Laura!
